Ophiuchus – The 13th Zodiac

The Constellation Ophiuchus has been familiar to astrologers since ancient times. But it was never added. As they said, the sun went directly from Scorpius to Sagittarius disregarding the piece of information that the sun travelled 19 days to Ophiuchus before entering Sagittarius.

The sign Ophiuchus is said to be the 13th sign of the zodiac, also known as Serperntarius, the Serpent Holder. Unlike the other signs, the 13th sign really do correlate with a real man. That man is “Imhotep” or “Aesclepius” he is called by the Ancient Greeks.

In his time Imhotep has many abilities and one of them is healing, and he is believed to be the one who commence it to mankind. He has an immense knowledge about medicine. The serpent is a symbol to represent Imhotep. Even to this day the serpent is still used as an indication to recognize the medical profession.
